Past vs Present Games 2013
Past vs Present Games 2013
This year's Past vs Present Games saw a break from tradition as the event was moved to the last Saturday of February instead of a Sunday. As Saturday is usually a CCA training day, this change helped to strengthen the Present teams, thus raising the standards for this annual contest.
Past vs Present Games 2013Although the Present teams were tipped to use their fitness to run rings around the Past teams, this expectation did not come true as the Old Boys retained the Ang Peng Tiam Challenge trophy for another year!

Rugby and soccer were played out in both the pitches in ACS (Independent). The Present teams made out of boys from ACJC, ACS (Barker) and ACS (Independent) were certainly not over-awed by the "legends" showcasing their skills in front of them. They took on the challenge of competing with the Old Boys and matched them stride for stride working hard to earn the respect of their seniors. A well deserved tie in both sports was a fair result for both teams involved on that day.

Past vs Present Games 2013The pool and the courts yielded very different results. Waterpolo, badminton and tennis were won by the Past teams as technique and experience trumped the youthful exuberance of the Present teams. Volleyball, a recent edition, was won on the day by the Present team.

As everyone walked off into the sunset and returned to their daily lives, we take into mind the stories of the past and new stories created that day, we take into heart the old friendships revisited and the new relationships built between the Past and the Present but most importantly, we take into our souls that we are all ONE ACS and no discord ever sever.
