Celebrating another milestone
in ACS history! |
The Anglo-Chinese Schools Foundation (ACSF) hosted its inaugural dinner to officially launch its fund-raising efforts on 26 April and to share its hopes and aims for this new “Grand Endeavour” of the ACS family.
The event was a simple, yet stunning event held on The Sky Terrace of SC Global Development's luxury development, Hilltops for an intimate group of 50 guests.
With the spectacular view of our Singapore skyline in the background, guests were entertained by some of our award-winning students from ACS (Junior). Aoden Teo Masa Toshi, winner of American Protégé International Strings and Piano Competition 2012 played three spell-binding pieces on the cello as the sun set behind him, and The Odyssey of the Mind (OM) team, comprising Samuel Yuen, Nikolai Song, Smaran Mishra, Haresh Subaskaran, Lam Wei Xuan, Johan Tusin and Derek Seet, who just won the
Odyssey of the Mind 2012 National Competition, Singapore, had guests doubled over with laughter with their charming antics and wit.
To give an overview of what many see as a historic chapter in the history of ACS,
Mr Richard Seow, Chairman of the ACS Board of Governors and the ACS Foundation shared his vision and mission for the Foundation,
Mr Olivier Lim, Treasurer of the ACS Foundation and member of the ACS Board of
Governors provided the rationale for the structure of the ACSF, and
Ms. Joy-marie Toh, General
Manager of the ACSF summarised the objectives of the programmes that the Foundation and our 6 ACS schools have collaborated on.
The Peranakan-themed dinner, catered by Blue Ginger, was a refreshing change, as were the delicious pies and macarons compliments of ACS Old Boys, brothers
Sean and Jonathan Gwee of Windowsillpies
and Kamome Confections.
