After months of planning, the ACSOBA Golf Classic finally took place at the Laguna Golf Club’s Masters Course on August 21, 2019. The response was so overwhelming that we had to include the Classic Course to accommodate all the 158 enthusiastic golfers who signed up for the tournament which was revived after some 12 years.

The day kicked off with lunch, following which the golfers participated in friendly competition over 18 holes. After the game, we then proceeded over to the Tanah Merah Country Club for dinner and the prize presentation to the following winners:

• 2nd Runner up (Men’s Division): Joey Chang (Year 87)

• 1st Runner up (Men’s Division): Marc Velan (Year 70)

• Overall Champion (Men’s Division): Tan Kim Sian (Year 61)

• Overall Champion (Women’s Division): Melinda Tan (Year 75)

• ACSOBA Golf Classic Presidents Challenge Champion: Tan Teck Lun (Year 75)

• ACSOBA Golf Classic Shield Team Champion: Year 75 (Tan Teck Lun, Ronnie Tan & William Wong)

Besides enjoying good food and fellowship at the dinner, the golfers also had the opportunity to help raise funds for the ACSOBA Retired Teachers’ Fund (RTF) in a live auction. The auction items were generously donated by fellow ACSians and over $78,000 was raised to financially assist some of our beloved teachers who have sacrificed so much for us back in school.

The event was a success and we thank everyone who supported us in this endeavor.
