On 1st September, 2014, approximately 80 retired principals, vice principals, teachers and Old Boys turned up at the ACS (Barker Road) Sports Complex for the ACS OBA Retired Teachers’ Tribute Dinner. Hosted by the ACS OBA, this event is held annually in conjunction with Teachers’ Day to pay tribute to the retired teachers and principals of the various ACS schools who once shaped our lives.

This year’s occasion was graced by our retired principals and vice principals, Mr Wan Fook Weng, Mr Peter Joe Chia, Mr Lim Keng Boon, Mrs Lenie Cho, Ms Gladys Chia, as well as our ACS Board of Governors Chairman, Mr Richard Seow.

All present were treated to a sumptuous buffet and enjoyed a delectable dessert spread which included Goodwood Park Hotel mooncakes sponsored by Mr En Lee (Class of 1990). The Class of 1960 added to the celebratory mood of the event by once again sponsoring a cake in honour of the teachers.

The occasion was a joyous one with everyone in a buoyant mood; taking the opportunity to mingle with each other, reminisce, exchanging fond memories as well as to share their latest pursuits.

The event was rounded off by a group phototaking session and a rousing rendition of the school anthem. The teachers went home with goodie bags containing mooncake gifts sponsored by Mr Keith Chua, ACS cookies from the class of 1993 and Bengawan Solo cake vouchers as a gift from the ACS OBA.

The OBA would once again like to thank Mr Peter Tan and the ACS (Barker Road) team for hosting us and supporting the logistics of the event, as well as the generous sponsors who supported the evening in cash and kind.
