Our ACS family has grown to proportions that Bishop Oldham would never be able to fathom- over 10.000 students spread across 6 schools in Singapore and 1 in Jakarta, over 1.000 staff and numerous alumni spread across the globe. All singing 1 anthem, bearing 1 crest, with 1 motto seared into our hearts. That is the ACS spirit and what makes our school unique. This inimitable ACS spirit is instilled in generations of students passing through the portals of ACS. Proud to be ACSians, they hold their Alma Mater in high esteem and it is not unusual to find generations of the same family carrying the torch for ACS.

One living example is the Beng family.

90-year old retired stockbroker Mr Henry Beng Siew Giap is the patriarch of the Beng family. A true blue ACSian who completed his O Levels in 1942, he ensured that all his four sons (Jimmy, Philip, Arthur and Mervin) received the ACS brand of education. His eldest son Dr Jimmy Beng, a Consultant Urologist in private practice, finished his O Levels in 1961 while Jimmy’s son, Dr Beng Teck Liang, the CEO of the Singapore Medical Group, completed his in 1987. Today, Mr Henry Beng is proud that two of his greatgrandsons, Bradley and Brendan (Dr Beng Teck Liang’s children) are also schooling in ACS (Junior).
