A Splendid Reunion for the Class of '55!

It was a rousing good time for the "old boys" from the ACS class of 1955 when nearly 50 of them gathered at the NUSS Orchard Guild House on 25 August for a reunion.

Honouring the group with their attendance were three special guests --  octogenarian Mr Lee Hah Ing and Mr Lim Choon Mong, and a young looking Mr Earnest Lau -- well-loved teachers of that generation. Several other teachers unfortunately were unable to attend.

Some of the classmates had not seen each other since the 1960s, so everyone had a grand time catching up with each other.

Special mention must be made regarding two classmates. One was Eng Chye Choon, an engineer who migrated to England with his family in 1959, and has never attended a class reunion. He made a special effort to fly in this time! Great ACS spirit!!

Another was businessman Chou Cheng Ngok, who flew in from Hong Kong just hours before the annual get-together. The chairman & CEO of listed-company Popular Holdings Ltd, Cheng Ngok was as usual full of jokes and stories to tell his buddies. Unlike Chye Choon, he's a regular visitor and makes a point to attend class gatherings.

The ad hoc Organising Committee, chaired by the Rev George Wan Tian Soo, was very pleased with the excellent response to this year's reunion. In a post-reunion meeting recently, the committee decided to hold the next Big One, the 50th, on 25 August 2005.

No excuses for those living overseas especially in Canada, USA and Australia to say they have not been told sufficiently well in advance!
