ACS CLASS OF 72

A Long Overdue Rendezvous!

ACS Class of 72

It all began back in 2015 when a handful of us from the ACS "O" Level Class of 1972 met for lunch. Since then, we have morphed into a network of about 100, some of us meeting at least once a month.

Looking back, we realised that we gave our teachers a hard time in school, calling them nicknames behind their backs and sometimes in the face, among other cheeky, childish misdeeds. Over time, however, we have now come to truly appreciate our teachers who apart from imparting knowledge, shaped our characters as unique products from a very special school.

To make it up to our dear teachers, we decided to organise a meeting with our former mentors. The initiator was Daniel Boen, who works at Wesley Methodist Church where Mrs Iris Wong and Miss Khoo Heng Keow worship. The tireless organiser was Poon Kum Meng, who had endured minor abuse to put it all together. He also managed to rope in some ACSians from the "O" Level Class of 1973.

24 February 2017 at the YWCA Lodge will always be memorable for more than 30 "uncles" who became "boys" again greeting their former mentors, most for the first time since those heady Barker days.

There will surely be more and better gatherings to come because, as always, The Best Is Yet To Be!
