The ACSS Class of 1981’s 25th Anniversary ‘Mini’ Reunion on 15 December 2006 will probably go down in ACS history as one that was organised in the shortest of lead time … in just a fortnight!

Having lost contact with him for years, I emailed him and we eventually caught up with each other together with other schoolmates, Billy Tan, Benny Chan and Gordon Tan Jit Chee. At that meeting in late November, we talked, joked, ate and recalled fond memories as we scanned through our 1981 Yearbook. We also decided that we could not let the year end without a class reunion since 2006 was the 25th year since our cohort graduated from Secondary 4.

So the wheels were put into motion. It was two weeks of feverish work contacting members of our cohort and sourcing for a venue, which was a challenge because of the short notice and the busy festive period for restaurants. All our efforts finally paid off when 27 old boys from the Class of 81 gathered at the NUSS Guild House, Suntec City, on 15 December 2006 to celebrate our 25th Anniversary Reunion.

Over dinner, old ties were renewed, bonds strengthened and the fervour of friendship rekindled. Twenty-five years have come and gone, so it was not surprising that many "Who are you?" and "Wow! You haven't changed a bit!" were exchanged. Though our lives have changed, one thing remains true:

Our hearts, our hopes, our aims are one,
No discord 'ere will sever!
The regions round echo the sound of
ACS forever!
