ACS Class of 1995

    Together Again .....

        ..... after 10 Years!

On 09 October 2005, over ninety of us from the ACS (Independent) Class of 1995 gathered at a cosy restaurant run by one of our very own peers to celebrate our 10th Anniversary Reunion.

We were very honoured to have Ms Mirunalini Thirunalan, Mrs Patricia Thong, Mr Simon Bongard, Dr Philip Tieh and even teachers who have since left ACS (Independent) like Mr Stephen Lim and Mrs Wee Ling Lee grace the occasion.

Organising the event was a big challenge, but thanks to the ACS OBA SCRUM network, we managed to reach many schoolmates. Our Class of 1995 is currently 50% connected through the SCRUM network, but we are now motivated to work towards increasing the percentage to 75%!

Dinner was a scrumptious buffet spread of continental and local cuisine. No speeches or programmes were planned for the evening so that everyone could do what was most important that day - to mingle around to catch up with our teachers and long lost friends and reminisce about old times.

For many of us, the past ten years seemed to have passed by so quickly. But yet, so much had happened during that period – completing junior college, two-and-a-half years of National Service and graduating from university; some are married and a few have already produced little kiddies of their own!

We had a great time renewing friendships and recounting the things we did in school. However, all things good had to end. As we bade our farewells, we promised one another that we would meet again at the next reunion in five years !

        ACS (Barker Road) & ACSOBA

Last November, ACS (Barker Road) and the ACS OBA arranged three exclusive Swiss Dream Circus performances to raise funds for the ACS OBA Teachers Welfare Fund and the ACS (Barker Road) Parents Support Group Needy Students Fund. As a result of their efforts, $7,196 was raised for the Teachers Welfare Fund.

This year's AGM held on 29 March was a lively affair. The interest and attendance of quite a number of the younger alumni augurs well for the future as they came forward with suggestions on how the OBA can make itself more relevant to the younger generation.
