IN MEMORIAM
              MR KHOO BOO GAY

                   Principal, Anglo-Chinese Primary School
                          Coleman Street (1967 - 1973)

Mr Khoo Boo Gay

Mr Khoo Boo Gay began his teaching career in 1949 at the Anglo-Chinese Primary School, Coleman Street. He recalled being shown the school chapel by the Headmistress then, Miss Dorothy Moreton, and what left ‘an indelible impression’ in his life were the larger-than-life text of Proverbs 3:5-7 inscribed in one continuous line along the perimeter of the four walls: ‘Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.’

Mr Khoo unveiling the "In Days of Yore" muralThough Mr Khoo was not an Old Boy, he was at heart, a true-blue ACSian in every other sense. He would talk endlessly about ACS. At family gatherings, he would say he had enough family members from ACS to sing the anthem! He was also glad to see the art murals at Amoy Street Food Centre painted by ACS during a recent outing with his granddaughters. And as usual, his parting words would always be his signature: ‘The Best Is Yet To Be.’

Mr Khoo took pride in attending, without fail, celebrations of ACS Founders’ Day and school functions. In 2011, ACS (Primary) was privileged to have him as the Guest-of-Honour to grace the 125th Founder's Day celebration in school.

In addition to his pride of three sons and two grandsons who studied at Anglo-Chinese Primary School and ACS (Primary) and his three granddaughters at ACJC/ACS (International), he was also very proud of his daughter-in-law, Grace, when she became the Vice-Principal of ACS (Primary).

Mr Khoo, 88, passed away on 31 December 2015. We rejoice that Mr Khoo is now finally Home with his Maker and Heavenly Father, the One who had called him to serve.
