ACS (Independent) Class of 2000 ..... 10 Years On!
ACS (Independent) Class of 2000

On 30 December 2010, the ACS (Independent) Class of 2000 gathered to celebrate the ten years since our graduation from our beloved school. For most of us, it was a long-anticipated reunion especially since a large number of the cohort had been abroad for further education since the O-Levels.

Back in 2000, e-mail addresses were meant to be either humourous or cute, like coolrugger14@hotmail.com, and pagers were the latest fad. There was no Facebook then and only a lucky few had mobile phones. Hence, ten years on, with most e-mail addresses and pager numbers no longer valid, contacting everybody was a challenge.

However, thanks to the marvellous ACS network, we managed within a very short span of time round up 60 people for the event which was held at a private residence. We were treated to a wide spread of Peranakan and Thai cuisine, with chefs preparing local favourites such as Roti Jalal and Durian Pancakes on the spot.

One of the highlights of the event was the screening of our Secondary Four graduation video - back then prepared by Jason Chin - and everyone had a good laugh at the photographs taken ten years and ten kilograms ago.

We are certainly looking forward to our next reunion, and hope to see an even bigger turnout then!
