A Milestone for ACS Rugby

2008 marked a milestone year for ACS Rugby when ACS (Independent) won the A, B and C Division rugby titles to become the first school in Singapore history to ever do so. This was the 6th Grand Slam for the ACS family and its 32nd National 15-a-side Championship title.

To celebrate the occasion, the school alongside parents and Old Boys organized a Thanksgiving Dinner on 26 November 2008. More than 100 parents and guests packed themselves into the Sheraton Hotel ballroom that evening only to be greeted by the traditional Haka and good food.

As the night went on, time was spent reviewing the season and the year past through multimedia presentations as well as recognising the many heroes who worked behind the scenes contributing to the success of 2008.

It was a great evening where players, parents, staff and Old Boys mingled which bore testament to the deep relationships the sport has developed between these diverse groups of individuals. Words of thanks were expressed to God, the senior administrators of ACS (Independent), supporters, parents, players and not to mention the coaches, Mr Adrian Chong and Mr Jock Tiernan, who have worked very hard throughout the year. The winner of the night was ONE ACS because it took on a greater scope to include the various groups present that night as can be seen evidently through 2008 that they believed with one heart that The Best is Yet to Be

Singing the ACS Anthem.
