The Class of 97's 10th Anniversary

Together again, after a decade!

Ten years after completing the O Level exams, about 90 students from the ACS (Independent) Class of 1997 got together at Blooie’s Roadhouse on 1 December 2007 for its first ever Reunion.

The evening was most enjoyable as many friendships forged in school were renewed. It was amazing that those who had lost contact along the way simply picked up where they left off and chatted with each other as though they have just left school.

A ‘Memorabilia Table’ showcasing old school uniforms, jerseys and t-shirts, sporting medals, trophies, plaques and copies of old school magazines and literature textbooks brought back many pleasant memories. We also had a hilarious time viewing the slide shows of old photographs that took us down memory lane. Other highlights of the evening included a fun quiz session that tested everyone on how well they can recall their school days and their fellow batch mates, and the cutting of a cake to mark the occasion by Ms M. Thirunalan, our year’s Head of Sec.4 Level.

The event was a resounding success and a testament to the strength and depth of the bonds built during the four years in ACS (Independent). We are now looking forward to our next Reunion in 2017, or perhaps sooner!
