ACS OBA pays tribute to

Tan Sri (Dr) Tan Chin Tuan

The ACS OBA hosted a dinner at Oldham Hall on 26 October 2006 to honour the late Tan Sri (Dr) Tan Chin Tuan. Gracing the occasion were Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Chew Kwee San from the Tan Foundation. Also present were Mr. Eric Teng, CEO of the Tan Foundation, and 25 beneficiaries of Tan Sri (Dr) Tan Chin Tuan scholarships.

In his address, Dr Ang Peng Tiam, President of the ACS OBA, paid tribute to the late Tan Sri for doing so much for the ACS family of schools. Besides setting up many scholarships for deserving students, Tan Sri was also concerned for the well being of retired ACS teachers. Together with the ACS OBA, the Teachers’ Welfare Fund was set up to assist retired teachers who are in need.

Being a beneficiary of the excellent ACS brand of education, Dr Ang encouraged fellow ACSians to step forward and follow Tan Sri’s fine example by contributing back to the Alma Mater. He believes that a proactive alumnus together with the commitment of the Board of Governors, Principals and Teachers will help provide a solid foundation for future ACSians.
