ODYSSEY OF THE MIND World Finals 2007

ACS (Junior) bags Singapore's first ever Under-12 Title!

"I am a World Champ!"When ACS (Junior) first made its debut in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in 2003, our pioneer team returned with the prestigious “Ranatra Fusca Award”. This was then a truly commendable achievement.

This year, we sent two teams to the World Finals to represent Singapore and one of the teams comprising Jonathan Chua Eu Wei, Barry Quek Jing Jet, Chew Chia Shao Yuan, Samuel Khaw Wei Hng, Jordan Steve, Christopher Mak Jie Hao and Alexander Sun E-Wei did our nation and the ACS family proud by beating 46 other state champions to be the first primary school team from Singapore to win the Championship title!

Participating in OM has been a most rewarding experience for our boys. It inspired Barry Quek, taught Jonathan Chua to challenge himself to the limit and enlightened Alex Sun the importance of teamwork.

Summing up, Samuel Khaw said, “OM is a once in a life time experience that allows me to express myself”, while Shao Yuan nonchalantly remarked, “OM is probably the best thing that has happened in my life!”

Well done, boys!

We could not have done it without the help of our supportive school, our Principal Mr. Peter Tan who always challenges us to do beyond our potential and our wonderful coaches, Marion Nicole Teo and Mr Sathis Kumar.

OM is a school based programme in ACS (Junior). The school encourages all P1 to P6 Boys to participate in OM. Almost 90% of the teachers in ACS (Junior) have been exposed to OM.
