THE MSF COMcurrentSWIM

PJ’s Cross-English Channel Swim was originally planned for 03 August, but was postponed at short notice because of unfavourable weather conditions. However, the COMcurrentSWIM, which was organized by the MSF to take place at the same time when PJ takes the plunge into the cold icy waters in Dover, England, went ahead at the Farrer Park Swimming Complex.

And they’re off!

About 300 past and present students of the 15 Methodist Schools and well-wishers completed the mass swim.

Among those in the ACS family who took part in the swim were:

  • Mr Ong Kian Min (MP, Tampines GRC)

  • Mr Ang Peng Siong (3-time Sportsman of the Year from 1982, an Olympian and former holder of the 50metres Freestyle world record)

  • Mr Peter Tan (Principal of ACS Junior)

  • Rev Dr John Barrett (Principal of ACS International).

Also present to lend support were:

  • Dr Vivian Balakrishnan (Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports & Second Minister for Trade and Industry)

  • NMP Ms Eunice Olsen.
