COMcurrentSwim
[in
support of The Singapore Cross-English
Channel Charity Swim]
Sometime
between 11 to 18 August 2005, a Singaporean will be
attempting to swim solo across the English Channel.
He is
25-year old Thum Ping Tjing,
a true blue ACSian and Rhodes Scholar who has
represented Singapore in swimming at every level up
to and including the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
When
PJ (as Ping
Tjing is popularly known in swimming circles)
takes the plunge for the 34-kilometre swim, old boys
and girls and students from the 15 Methodist schools
will be swimming concurrently with him at the Farrer
Park Swimming Centre. This
COMcurrentSwim event has been organised
to raise funds for the Methodist Schools' Foundation
(MSF) and Action for Aids Singapore.
